Farmer Appreciation Night – 2026
The North Peace Applied Research Association invites you to our annual Farmer Appreciation Night — an evening dedicated to celebrating the producers, families, and community members who support agriculture in our region.
Join us on April 17th from 5:00–9:00 PM at the Battle River Ag Hall for a relaxed and welcoming evening featuring a catered supper by Neighbours, live entertainment from Alberta entertainer Danny Hooper, an engaging live auction fundraiser, and plenty of time to connect and visit with others in the agricultural community. We will also be honouring Farm of the Year with the County of Northern Lights.
Farmer Appreciation Night is about recognizing the importance of local agriculture while bringing people together to share food, laughter, and conversation. Whether you are directly involved in farming or simply part of the community, everyone is welcome to attend.
What are we fundraising for? We are aiming to raise funds to cover the costs of bringing students to the NPARA Research Farm, we are looking to cover the costs of bussing, food, and a guest presentation.
About Danny Hooper
MASTER OF ENTERTAINMENT – CMAB HALL OF FAME
It’s hard to believe that after 50 years in the entertainment business, Danny Hooper is still at the top of his game. Having already logged more than 40,000 hours behind a microphone as a professional Master of Ceremonies, Certified Fundraising Auctioneer,
Comedian, Award-winning Radio Personality, Television Host, Brand Ambassador, and Recording Artist, he still appears at up to 100 events each year.
A magnetic personality, off-beat sense of humour, and razor-sharp wit are the main ingredients in Danny’s “secret sauce.” His experience onstage as a multi-platform performer is unequalled, his credentials are unassailable. Danny proudly serves a Blue-Chip client list of businesses, associations, foundations, and organizations, many of whom have been employing his services for 20 consecutive years or longer.
2026 will mark Danny’s 31st consecutive appearance as the MAIN STAGE EMCEE at Canada’s largest annual outdoor music festival, the BIG VALLEY JAMBOREE.
Danny was raised on a cattle ranch in Tomahawk, AB, Canada and now resides in Edmonton, AB, with his wife Barb.
We are also looking for donations for our Auction – please contact us if you have items you are wanting to donate.
Those who donate may have a chance to receive a free table at the event, all those who donate items worth more than $50 will receive 1 free ticket.
