TKW is the weight in grams of 1,000 kernels of seed. TKW can vary between crops and classes of cereals, and it will vary within the same variety depending on the field it was grown, the environmental conditions experienced in a particular season and year to year.
The EFP is an assessment voluntarily prepared by farm families to increase their environmental awareness in up to 23 different areas on their farm. Through the EFP process, farmers highlight their farm’s environmental strengths, identify areas of environmental concern and set realistic action plans with time tables.
